Garmin nuvi 765t portable gps navigator

August 19th, 2010 -

This Garmin nuvi 765T does any things very well, also i’ve yet to discover any serious shortcomings. My thoughts:

Navigation: excellent, because is typical with garmin units. On a join of occasions the speech (right now i’m using australian karen) told me my target was on the wrong faction of the street.

Map: the map is clear, the refresh speed is fast, also all of the right facts is provided on-screen, including details on behalf of prospective turns also junctions, speed limit, also traffic alerts. It’s annoying that i can’t pick out to switch the display of my modern speed to some other assemble of info. I already have a speedometer. The 3d buildings feature seems lovely gimmicky, also is implemented sporadically, even in downtown boston. When in that place is coverage, most buildings are monochroic blocks, also not the photo-realistic buildings seen in screenshots.

Lane assist: this feature has been spot-on so far. It’s well-mannered driving in a new area also not getting flustered about existence in the wrong lane. I have yet to see the full-screen 3d lane assist junction view shown in the many 765t screenshots — however, i’ve done very little highway driving, also i believe this one screen requires that the user press the top-left (upcoming turn icon).
